In the context of the CBRN threat, drones, considered by international and national legislations as real aircrafts, due to their versatility, availability, ease of modification and use, have attracted the attention of the author who has, in the present book, outlined and deepened both the possible applications in attacks by terrorist groups and the possible uses by the Police or other State apparatuses engaged in anti-terrorism action. Some European projects on the use of drones are reported.

Pasquale Spanò was born in Reggio Calabria in 1966. After a diploma in chemistry and military service in the navy, he became a police commissioner and aircraft and drone pilot. He got a degree in political science and international relations in Rome and then completed, with the highest mark and honors, an international master in protection against CBRNe events at the Tor Vergata University of Rome, during which he explored the theme of the dual use of drones in the context of the terrorist CBRNe threat.
